Sutter Health IT Department Ranked Among the Best in Computerworld List

100 “Best Places to Work in IT”

SACRAMENTO, Calif., August 19, 2008 - For the sixth year in a row, Sutter Health’s Information Services (IS) department has been ranked by Computerworld magazine as one of the 100 “Best Places to Work in IT” in the country.

Sutter Health ranked number 19 nationally this year, and number four in the Pacific Region. These rankings place Sutter Health’s IS department in good company among some of the world’s most well-known and highly regarded companies.

“This honor shows our shared commitment to create a team environment that strives for service excellence, values innovative thinking and represents one of the best places to build an IS career,” says Sutter Health Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Jonathan Manis.

To determine the rankings, Computerworld considered each nominated organization’s:

Diversity - Percentage of women and minorities in staff and managerial positions

Training – Average number of training days and average annual cost of training

Career development – Mentoring programs and tuition reimbursement

Retention – Frequency of employee satisfaction surveys, turnover rate, promotions and communication initiatives

Benefits –Sabbaticals, health and vision benefits, etc.
